Jeff and I and our beloved MD decided to finally head to The M today, after a two (or maybe three) week hiatus from the trails. Our only excuse for our sloth-like behaviour has been our weather…its been endlessly cloudy, snowy and dreadfully unmotivating. However, today we had a plan.
Good thing we finally got going. This was a tough trudge for me, after too long without hitting the hills. I branched off the main trail to tackle a steeper route and shortly thereafter found that I had to break trail in knee-deep snow. MD had a blast, being light enough to race around without caving through…she had a great run and often disappeared over hill and dale before being whistled back. I crashed through with most steps, however, until I figured out that if I walked on my toes I had a better chance of staying on top of the snow. Not sure why.
The route I followed…
Guess that’s not exactly a hardship 🙂
